President Anderson called for a secretary’s report, no report was
given.
There was a call for the treasures report; Joe Barber gave the
following numbers:
Income $4,774,69
Expenses $1,425.12
Balance Forward $3445.37
Balance as of May 9, 01 $6794.94
There was a raffle and auction of donated items that will account for
more income and also some additional expenses that Joe will publish
later.
Joe then brought up the new member process. It was decided that we
would follow the by-laws and that the treasure is to send out materials
to new members.
President Anderson called for old business: Question, do we want to
go back and charge businesses (like Partenavia) the full $100 annual fee
rather that the $25? No decision made.
It was recommended that we re-associate with the International
Association of Fish and Wildlife Agency. There would be an annual fee to
re-affiliate and Joe would check on the price.
It was suggested that next year’s workshop be held in Wisconsin,
Appleton area, the end of August or the 1st of September of
2002. Greg Stacey will check.
The 2003 workshop to be held in Ohio sometime in August.
The 2004 workshop proposed to be in Greenville, Maine the 2nd
week in September.
It was suggested that a plaque of appreciation be awarded to Val
Judkins for his work in the IANRP newsletter. Mike Derendinger from
Missouri will work with Paul Anderson.
Fred Kruger in Wisconsin is a point of contact for additional pins
and recruitment flyers.
Election of new officers was then considered. President Anderson
explained how the by-laws were written. The vice president is elected
for one year and then becomes the president the next year. The secretary
and treasure are appointed for two years terms. President Anderson then
called for nominations for vice president. Greg Stacey’s name was
nominated and seconded. The vote was unanimous in the affirmative.
The vice president, George Peachee who now becomes the president,
took charge of the remainder of the meeting as the new president.
President Peachee encouraged members to bring his or her spouse to the
workshops. He challenged everyone in the organization to find one new
member to join and to attend the next workshop. He asked that members
bring to the next meeting any special equipment or ideas that could be
shared with the group. President Peachee also asked that we bring
patches and pins to give out or items that could be auctioned off to
increase the organizations funds.
President Peachee called for any new business. John Clem suggested
that a two-year term for president be considered, the vice president isn’t
involved much and by the time the president figures out what he is doing
it’s time for a change. John said he would formulate a proposal and
submit it to the executive committee.
Tom Brelsford suggested a conference call between the executive
committee and the site committee before the next workshop. It was
seconded and the president will call that meeting 6 months prior to the
workshop.
Greg Stacey suggested there needs to be more on the website which
would contain pictures and agency profiles. He also suggested a letter
or certificate to those who make contributions to the organization such
as Ducks Unlimited.
Tom Brelsford asked that "thank you" letters be sent to the
guest speakers from the IANRP for this past conference. President
Peachee will respond and send letters.
Tom asked how attendance could be improved. Right now about 9 to 10
percent attend. It was suggested that perhaps a letter to the directors
of each agency from the IANRP would help get support. President Peachee
asked that all return and thank directors for sending them to the
workshop.
Greg Stacey would like the IANRP to work up a presentation that could
be given at a director’s conference. Greg was nominated to make that
presentation at the next director’s conference and the IANRP help to
cover expenses. There was a second and the vote was unanimous.
President Peachee thanked everyone for coming and expressed
appreciation to Connecticut for hosting the workshop and called for a
dismissal of the meeting. The meeting was adjourned.
